The following are some key observations of the TSX and TSX Venture Exchange markets:

1. MINING DOMINANCE

Mining dominated in July and was the top performing sector across all 4 market cap ranges. Mining issuers had an average performance of 34% overall and saw the best performance in the micro cap range. In addition, all of the top 10 performing ETFs in July have a mining focus.

2. CONTINUED MICRO CAP SECTOR STRENGTH

Micro cap issuers (TSX- and TSX Venture-listed issuers under $25 million market capitalization) had the best overall returns for the past three months. The COVID bounce-back has been positive for all market cap segments, but particularly positive for micro cap stocks.

3. S&P/TSX VENTURE INDUSTRIALS INDEX LEADS AGAIN

The S&P/TSX Venture Industrials Index is once again the best performing index for the third straight month. In fact, TSX Venture-centric indices represent 7of the top 8 best performing indices in July.

4. PURPOSE SILVER BULLION TRUST ETF SHINES IN JULY

Purpose Silver Bullion Trust ETF (TSX:SBT) had all 3 of its securities in the top 5 for the month of July. Each security appreciated at least 35%.
