1. DOWN MARKET IN APRIL

The top 3 market segments were negative in April, with Large Cap down an average -4%, and Mid Cap and Small Cap at -7%, while Micro Cap was flat.

2. OIL & GAS SECTOR ON TOP

Oil & Gas was the top performing sector in April across all four market segments: +7% in Large Cap, -2% in Mid Cap, +6% in Small Cap, and +5% in Micro Cap.

3. ENERGY INDEX TOP PERFORMER

The S&P/TSX Energy Index was the top performing index in April at +8%. The S&P/TSX Venture Financials Index and S&P/TSX Venture Energy Index were the second best performers with both at +4%.

4. VALUE TRADED STILL TRENDING DOWN

Dollar value traded in April is down compared to last month (-30%) and the same time last year (-38%).
