1. OIL & GAS SECTOR EXPLODED IN 2021
In 2021, the Oil & Gas Sector was magma hot, recording triple-digit gains in the top 2 market cap segments (+178% in Large Cap and +290% in Mid Cap) and high double-digits in the bottom two market cap segments (+99% in Small Cap and +93% in Micro Cap).
2. STRONG OVERALL GAINS IN 2021
The top 3 market cap segments had average overall gains of +37% (Large Cap), +38% (Mid Cap) and +46% in Small Cap, while the overall average gains in Micro Cap were only +2%.
3. TSX VENTURE WAS HOT IN 2021
2021 was a strong year for our public venture market. Specifically, over $11B of capital was raised across 1800+ financings for TSX Venture issuers and trading volume was the highest in over 10 years at 64B+ shares traded.
4. TSX AND TSX VENTURE HIT MILESTONES
The total market capitalization of the TSX exceeded $4 Trillion and the TSX Venture exceeded $100 Billion by mid-2021. Also, the ETF sector exceeded $300 Billion in Assets Under Management and over $500 Billion in value traded in 2021.
